GWERSYLLT Community Resource Centre and the Plas Pentwyn Centre in Coedpoeth will be hosting an arts project throughout the summer.

People will have the chance to try their hand at a variety of skills including silk painting, drawing, working with clay and plaster, mosaics and more.

The project is open to all ages, but under 11’s need to be accompanied by an adult.

It will be taking place every Wednesday between July 23 and August 27 from 9.30am to 12.30pm in Gwersyllt and 1.30pm to 4.30pm in Coedpoeth.

The project has been organised by the West Wrexham Partnership, with funding from Arts Council Wales.

The funding has enabled the partnership to employ a resident artist, Andy Leigh, for six weeks.

Andy will work with communities to develop not only art for themselves to take home, but also to create a piece of work to remain a permanent feature at both of the new centres.

David Millington, chairman of the West Wrexham Partnership, said: “Residents of the surrounding villages are more than welcome to join in, the more the merrier.”
