NORTHWICH Rugby Club are set to break new ground by appointing a full time community coach.
They are the first club in Mid Cheshire to make a paid coaching appointment without a direct benefit.
The new coach will earn between £16,500 and £17,000 per year for a 35 hour week with the aim of increasing the uptake of rugby in the Vale Royal area.
Northwich, who already provide rugby for 200 juniors, obviously hope potential first team players will emerge, but rugby and the community are the main beneficiaries.
The post will run for one year initially.
