A festive scene by a Frodsham 10-year-old girl could be dropping through your letterbox.

Emily Anderson won the competition to design the front of Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans’s Christmas card.

The Frodsham CE Primary School pupil’s picture shows the Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge in the depths of winter, a boat on the River Weaver and Santa’s sleigh flying overhead.

Her entry was picked out of hundreds of designs submitted by children from across the constituency.

Emily said: “I was surprised to win as I don’t usually win anything, my mum and dad will be happy for me.

“I decided to do a winter scene as well as the swing bridge for my picture, as something different.”

Mr Evans visited Frodsham CE to congratulate Emily on her winning drawing and his cards are posted to thousands of addresses across Weaver Vale.

Mr Evans said: “The standard of the entries was incredibly high and very, very Christmassy.

“I’d like to thank all those who took part and all the teachers who sent in the works of art.

“They were all fabulous, it was a very tough decision to make and shows just how artistic our school children are.”
