RESIDENTS and their families in Neston will join the Friends of Stanney Fields Park for an afternoon of games and festivities at their annual fun day on Saturday.

The park will be filled with free activities from 1-4pm ranging from a mobile climbing wall, arts and crafts workshops, bowling taster sessions and a children’s entertainer to children’s steam engine rides, a Viking village and football fun with the Neston Nomads.

Refreshments will be on sale, with members of the friends group on site to chat with visitors about the park and the group’s activities.

The group will organise its popular raffle, with all proceeds going toward future community events.

Representatives from Explore Learning, Cheshire police and Streetscene Recycling will also be present with promotional stalls.

Local member Cllr Andy Williams, who will attend the event, said: “I would encourage all local residents to visit Stanney Fields Park on Saturday and see what’s on offer – there promises to be something for everyone.

“It really is a lovely afternoon so people are welcome to come along. Most activities are free so please come along, support the local friends group and have an enjoyable afternoon in your park.”
