Then, on Monday, July 20, there will be a picnic walk in Bonc yr Hafod Country Park, near Ruabon, at 11am.

Walkabout will also be running a litter pick walk in Cefn Mawr, a mini mountain walk in Llantysilio, orienteering in Alyn Waters and a history walk around Erddig.

Walkabout Wrexham, which is managed by Groundwork Wrexham and Flintshire and funded through the Big Lottery Fund, offers 11 walks every week in Acton, Bellevue Park, Alyn Waters, Gwersyllt, Rossett, Erddig, Moss Valley, Llay and Caia Park.

Fortnightly and monthly walks also take place in Brynteg, Holt, Llangollen, Ponciau and Ty Mawr.

All are graded in terms of difficulty, with the shortest walk of 35 minutes in Bellevue Park and up to a six-mile walk in Llangollen.

Every Tuesday there is a two to three mile stroll in and around the Acton Park area, meeting at 6.15pm at the car park behind the Cunliffe Pub, Jeffreys Road, Borras.
