A FREAK own-goal in the second half put resurgent Flint right back in the title hunt as Bala saw their own hopes take another body-blow.

Two unyielding defences dominated a scoreless first half as the driving wind and rain and cloying conditions made life difficult for both sides.

The decisive goal came out of the blue on 57 minutes when a tame shot from Sean Beck was somehow flicked into his own net by Bala's Steve Fisher.

Flint finished strongly with Beck again twice going close as did Steve Thomas while shot-shy Bala failed to produce a solitary threatening effort as Flint moved to within a point of their rivals.
