Neston Air Cadets were treated to an arresting performance when they were visited by Sgt Craig O'Brien from the Merseyside Rapid Response Unit.

Craig, a past Neston Cadet, and later a civilian instructor, gave the squadron an insight into what it was like to be a police officer, and an overview of his job.

The cadets got the chance to question Craig and check out all the gear that comes with the job. Cdt Daniel Busby got in on the act and donned Craig's riot gear.

Craig said: “Being a cadet, and gaining the experiences that cadets provide, certainly helped me when applying for my job.”

He encouraged everyone to gain as much as they could whilst in the air cadet organisation.

There will be a recruitment evening at 2375 (Neston) Sqn on Tuesday, January 28, from 7.30pm, for anyone aged between 13 and 17 interested in joining the Air Cadets.

The cadets meet on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, 7pm-9.30pm, Tanks field, off Church Lane, Neston.
