THERE was no separating Ellesmere Port and Willaston when they met in a West Cheshire League duel on Saturday.

Division One basement side Willaston earned a 2-2 draw at Whitby Sports and Social Club, scoring through Josh Williams and Trevor Worsley.

The home side, four places off the foot of the table, netted through Mark Price and Ryan Nicoll.

Third-placed Marine Reserves ran riot in a 4-0 home victory over Vauxhall Motors Reserves. Goals by Mike Brown, Steven Gale, Phil Ferguson and Peter Donnelly consigned the Ellesmere Port visitors to a heavy defeat.

In Division Two, the mid-table battle between Capenhurst Villa and Manor Athletic ended 1-1.

Mike Urmston was on the mark for visitors Villa, with Joe McKeown responding.

Saturday’s Division Three action saw Capenhurst Villa Reserves tumble to a heavy home defeat against Helsby.

Jamie Johnson scored for Villa but second-placed Helsby responded through Tom Smith, Jamie McCartney, Ian Cox, John Coady and Josh Cullen to wrap up a 5-1 success.

Neston Nomads belied their lowly league status with a thumping 5-1 win at home to Chester Nomads Reserves.
