THE humble daffodil had pride of place on St David's Day - but for a doubly good reason.

Marie Curie Cancer Care shares the yellow daffodil emblem with the nation of Wales. Charity representatives were in Wrexham's Asda store selling pin-on daffodils to raise money for more research and investment into cancer care and cures.

Asda's Golden Greeter Jan Redican drew attention to their efforts dressed in full traditional Welsh garb.

To add to the occasion, the store organised stalls set up like a market selling Welsh goods and items featuring the Welsh dragon.
