FIVE generations of the same family joined hundreds of revellers to enjoy a street party fit for royalty on Monday.

Patriotic residents of Atherton Road, Ellesmere Port, invited family and friends to share an afternoon of food, festivities and fundraising for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

Organiser Wendy Johnson said: “We had a fantastic day. Some of our guests said it was one of the best street parties they’d ever been to. Everybody was so made up.

“We had to go out at the last minute and borrow some tables from The Groves Club.”

Wendy’s grandmother Mary Simcox was the party’s oldest guest at 98, while four-week-old Kayden Dalglish was seeing in his first Jubilee.

Funding from G J Window Cleaning, Clean and Gleam Valeting, Greenright Complete Gardening Services, Brooklyn Barbers Shop and Catalyst meant pensioners could enjoy the celebrations for free.
