CHOLMONDELEY Castle is the spectacular setting for a magnificent fireworks concert on Saturday, July 19 with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra.

Music for the evening takes its theme from Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08 with Puccini’s Flower Duet and Grainger’s arrangement of English Country Garden among the crowd pleasers.

As usual, the finale is a breathtaking firework display accompanied by Land of Hope and Glory and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

The event also features a garden party brimming with attractions and entertainment including a traditional English funfair and colourful village green-style stalls.

For some light-hearted glamour there will also be a fashion parade in which willing participants will have the opportunity to show off their summer party to win prizes.

Bring a picnic to enjoy in the castle gardens where attractions include the walled garden, lake, nature reserve and rare breed animal centre with children’s play area.

Gates open 2pm and the concert starts at 6.30pm. Adult tickets are £25, children £15 with reductions for groups of 10 or more.
