NORTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service is working with the British Red Cross to help keep the residents of Wrexham as safe as possible in their homes.

Paul Whybro, county safety manager for Wrexham, said the service has been working with the Red Cross for about two months, passing on details of its free home fire safety checks to those they support.

“In the same way, when we conduct our free home fire safety checks, we can signpost residents to the Red Cross to access valuable help and advice,” he said.

Ruth Winkel, services manager for the British Red Cross, said: “Here in Wrexham we have a variety of community services which are volunteer – led and these services are there to help vulnerable residents of Wrexham county if they face a crisis.

“Through our Home from Hospital service we are proud to be working alongside the fire service to help ensure that the people of Wrexham are as safe as possible.”
