FIREFIGHTERS visited the Sainsbury’s store in Plas Coch Road, Wrexham, to give advice on fire safety in the home and encourage people to take advantage of free fire safety checks.
Firefighters were at the store on Tuesday, giving hints and tips on fire safety and presenting shoppers registering for the free check with a North Wales Fire and Rescue Service bag for life.
Community fire safety team member Trystan Rowlands said: “We had an excellent turnout, with a high number of shoppers taking advice and registering for a free home fire safety check during the day.
“During the check a member of the service will visit your home, give fire safety hints and tips, help you to formulate a fire escape plan and, if necessary, fit new smoke alarms – all free of charge.
“If you know anyone who could benefit from the free home fire safety checks but couldn’t make it to Sainsbury’s to register, they can call 0800 169 1234 or visit www.nwales-fireservice. org.uk and leave their contact details.”
Nich Jones, deputy manager of Sainsbury’s, said: “We are proud to be working with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to raise awareness of fire safety and keep our customers as safe as possible in their homes.”
