FIREFIGHTERS were called when a chimney caught fire in Neston.

At just before 4pm today (Monday) emergency services were called to Well Lane in Ness, Neston, after reports of a fire.

One engine from Ellesmere Port Fire Station attended the blaze.

When they arrived firefighters gained access to the loft to check if the fire had spread.

No-one is thought to have been hurt in the fire, which saw firefighters dampen down the blaze from the hearth until the flames went out.
