COLWYN Bay manager Gary Finley has added two new players to his squad but neither is expected to be involved in today's visit to lowly Clitheroe.

Despite preserving an unbeaten record since taking over from Peter Davenport, Finley isn't resting on his laurels.

"We've done well and full credit to the lads I inherited for the way they've responded but there's always room for improvement," he said.

The two impending arrivals are Anthony Lally, a left sided player who has been with Stalybridge Celtic, and midfielder Paul Williams from Burscough.

"They are players I have watched who can add to the quality of our squad and I'm delighted to be bringing them to Colwyn Bay,” he added.

But boss Finley plans to keep faith with the side that held promotion candidates Stocksbridge to a 1-1 draw at Llanelian Road last week.

"They were a strong side but they still needed a brilliant performance from their keeper to deny us," recalled Finley.

"We were always threatening and on another day we might have finished with four goals."

Finley praised recent capture John Lawless, the ex-Aberystwyth Town and TNS star who is proving a big hit with the Seagulls.

"John is real influence and his commitment and skills rub off on the other players around him,” he said. “If we can keep this momentum going and pick up as many points as we can then we can finish in a very respectable position."

This will be the Bay's first encounter with Clitheroe as their scheduled home game on December 30 was called off due to torrential rain.
