ORGANISERS of Winsford Festival are gearing up for the tenth anniversary of the town’s showpiece event.
The two-day event, this year renamed Winsford ‘X’ Festival to mark ten years since its inception, will be on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, June 1.
And festival co-ordinator Steve Smith wants anyone interested in performing or helping out to get in touch.
“This year there are more opportunities for young bands and musicians than ever before and more slots available than ever,” he said.
For this year’s event, Steve and his fellow organisers are trying to negotiate funding for a second stage, which would be located on Wetherspoon’s car park in the town centre.
Informal ‘auditions’ will be at the Winsford Centre on Cheviot Square on Friday for solo artists and bands who want to perform.
Steve said: “It won’t be like an X-Factor type where people get sent away. Everyone will get an opportunity, the auditions are just to establish an order.
“And we also need stage managers, programme sellers and stewards amongst other things so, if you are interested, please get in touch.”
