ALL three Mid Cheshire clubs played their part in raising £1,210 for St Luke’s Hospice on Sunday.

Northwich Vics and Witton Albion provided two teams of supporters and Winsford United the venue for what is intended to be an annual challenge match.

Vics raced away to a 7-0 win, but when relations between rival fans are sometimes strained, everyone was united by the spirit of the occasion.

A gate of 224 was counted and the event raised £610 itself, with Barclays Bank committed to doubling the total, which will be presented to St Luke’s shortly.
