A THIEF who posed as a rug salesman to steal off an elderly woman is wanted by police.
The man, who is believed to be aged around 30, struck after tricking his way into the victim’s home at Mount Pleasant Drive, Davenham on Monday morning.
A police spokeswoman said: “He called at her home at around 10.20am and offered to sell her a rug. He accompanied her into her living room to see if the rug matched the carpet and the victim later noticed her purse was missing.”
The woman, who is in her 80s, was not injured ibut police are warning people to be on their guard.
