EYE treatment experts Ultralase of Chester is believed to have become the first laser surgery centre in the country to be accredited by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
The city centre surgery has all its surgeons accredited by the Royal College.
Mark Korolkiewicz, clinical services director at Ultralase, said: “For our refractive surgeons to be certified by the Royal College is testament to the high levels of skill, knowledge and expertise we can offer to patients.
“At Ultralase, we pride ourselves on premium service and care to our patients and this qualification is a further illustration of this.”
Refractive surgeons at Chester’s Ultralase received the Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery after undergoing strict assessments in areas such as surgical skills and patient management.
Kathy Evans, chief executive for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, said: “The assessment was set up for the benefit of patients and we are delighted that the number of surgeons now obtaining the certificate has increased.”
Ultralase in Chester provides a wide range of treatments for the correction of short-sight, long-sight and astigmatism.
