TWO people are in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of running a cannabis “factory” from a house in Davenham.

Police raided a property on London Road in the early hours of today, Thursday, and found around 250 cannabis plants stored in different rooms.

Specialist officers from Cheshire Constabulary’s Vector Unit recovered the plants and “a vast array of equipment used for the cultivation process”.

Sgt Dave Brown said: “We acted on intelligence received locally in executing today’s warrant.

“It is vital that the public inform police of any suspicious activity that can help us disrupt and remove from the community those who are involved in illegal drug activity.”

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, and are currently awaiting interview.
