NORTH East Wales Carers Information Service (NEWCIS), which provides support to carers, is organising a series of events.
On Thursday, May 19, at Capel y Groes, Bodhyfryd, you can find out more about the services on offer in your area, including Direct Payments scheme and the Red Cross Service.
Direct Payments can help carers employ a person of their choice to assist them in their caring role, instead of having a service arranged for them by Social Services.
The Red Cross will also be there to talk about its carers emergency card, the home from hospital service and the services it can provide during an emergency.
On Wednesday, May 25, NEWCIS is planning a trip to the NAIDEX event in Birmingham. This is the UK's leading homecare, disability and rehabilitation event.
On May 25 and 26 a Moving and Positioning course will be held. The course will inform carers on how to move the person they care for, minimising the risk of injury to themselves and the person they care for.
The training and information events are held in Wrexham town centre and funding is available for transport and respite to enable you to attend. All events include refreshments and lunch.
More information on the events and what help is on offer should call Mary or Helen at NEWCIS on 01978 310414.
