STAFF at Capenhurst Grange organised a literacy project for 60 high school students.

Year 10 and 11 pupils from Ellesmere Port Specialist School of Performing Arts (EPSSPA), Whitby, Cheshire Oaks, Neston and Ellesmere Port Catholic High, along with a group from the Grange, all took part in the Learnfest event.

The project, which was held at EPSSPA, required students to design an alphabet or counting book aimed at nursery-age children, as well as taking part in learning style games and activities.

Liz Cooper from Capenhurst Grange said: “The event was fantastic. All the pupils were really creative in what they came up with in the short time that was available to them.”

A Catholic High School pupil’s book design was named as the winner and will go on to be published.
