Employees of a Sutton Weaver-based company who undertook the facial hair fundraiser Movember have beaten their target amount of £1,000.

The five moustached men from First Capital Cashflow ended up raking in £1,694, with £1,194 going to men’s health charities and £500 donated to the Philippines aid appeal.

The £500 was thanks to a promise made by managing director Conrad Broadbent to double any donations in the final five days of November.

The award for best moustache was presented to Les Dale, who dyed his facial hair bright orange for the final day.

Youngest participant Simon Reynolds said: “Despite the itching and irritation we all held out to ensure we raised a good amount of money for a great cause.

“There were a few more grey hairs than we initially expected, but on the whole the consensus was we all look really cool.”
