A CRUCIAL meeting to try and overturn the council’s skate park decision has been cancelled.

A band of six pro-skate park town councillors called for a special meeting about the issue to be held on Tuesday, Jan 22.

But they’ve withdrawn their request after various obstacles emerged.

Cllr Andrew Richardson, who submitted the request, declined to clarify the obstacles.

In a press release issued today, Jan 18, the Town Council said: “We have been instructed that the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, which was due to take place at the Brownlow Centre, has now been cancelled.”

Cllr Richardson said Next Generation Youth is still investigating the possibility of starting a judicial review in to the council’s decision.
