A 19-YEAR-old girl from Elton who was killed when her car collided with a lamp-post has been named by police.

Victoria-Louise Williams died from her injuries at the scene after her black Vauxhall Corsa left the A56 Chester Road, near to its junction with Tarvin Road.

She was driving from Frodsham towards Helsby when the accident occurred at 1.36am yesterday.

Victoria worked as a part-time care assistant while studying to be a nurse and intended to join the army as an officer in the Medical corps. She had two younger brothers.

In a statement her family said: “She enjoyed life and socialising with friends in the Elton and Helsby area. She loved Marilyn Monroe and listening to music.”

An 18-year-old female passenger, also from Elton, was hurt but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. She is currently being treated at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Cheshire Police’s Western Specialist Investigation Unit is currently seeking witnesses to the collision and in particular would like to hear from anyone who saw the Corsa prior to the accident.
