A DEVASTATED family have paid tribute to a young Ellesmere Port woman found dead in her bed.

Aimée Valentine, 20, was found at her Percival Road home at about 9.30am on Friday.

A 30-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and possession of controlled drugs.

Police were called to the home after receiving a call informing them Aimée had been found dead.

She had only recently returned from a month-long trip of a lifetime to Australia with her mum, Lisa Valentine.

Her family released a statement, saying: “Aimée was a lively, beautiful, fun-loving young woman who was taken before her time.

“She has left a hole in everybody’s lives but will live on in our hearts forever.

“Aimée attended Maelor School, Penley, and West Cheshire College. She loved children and spent her time training toward a degree in child psychology. It was her dream to help and care for children.

“Aimée spent the last month of her life in Australia, where she was the happiest she has ever been, and the memories will be cherished forever.”

Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “At 9.28am on Friday, June 17, officers attended an address in Percival Road, Ellesmere Port, following a call reporting a 20-year-old woman deceased inside the address.

“A 30-year-old man from Ellesmere Port was subsequently arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and possession of controlled drugs. He has been granted bail until August 18 pending further investigation.”

Following a post-mortem examination, the cause of death is inconclusive pending toxicology results.
