STUDENTS and teachers from Ellesmere Port’s twin town were treated to a concert by the University Church of England Academy’s swing band.

Ellesmere Port mayor Cllr Angela Claydon hosted a concert for a group of Reutlingen school students and their teachers.

The youngsters, from Herman Hesse Realschule in Ellesmere Port’s twin town of Reutlingen, were visiting the University Church of England Academy, spending a week in the school and staying at the University of Chester halls of residence.

They were taken to attractions including the National Waterways Museum.

The concert, held at St Thomas’ Church, featured the Academy Swing Band, with the mayor providing refreshments.

It was attended by past mayors of Ellesmere Port and representatives of groups and sports clubs which maintain links with Reutlingen.
