Shoppers in Little Sutton have had an early Christmas present.

Organisers of the new ‘Bring Life to Little Sutton’ community group announced that, following the success of the pop-up cafe and fresh food fayre which has been running in the community centre next to Little Sutton library, the popular features will continue in the new year.

Opening hours will remain at 9am to 1pm every Saturday.

For the group, Julie Perry said: “The aims of this project include giving local residents access to fresh local foods and a place to meet others and chat, improve health and wellbeing by offering support and information and grow the community spirit in the village.”

Each week will have a special feature and updates are available by joining the Facebook group ‘Bring Life to Little Sutton’.

Amazing promotions on offer

Meanwhile the new Little Sutton Convenience Store, which has opened in the former post office at 385 Chester Road, continues to offer a post office service but with longer hours and says it has great deals on a variety of products and some ‘amazing promotions’.

The determined effort to bring life back to the village shopping centre was launched to counteract empty premises, estate agents, restaurants and takeaways which have replaced the thriving shops of yesteryear.

The initiative is backed by local councillors, Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders (Lab) and Plus Dane Housing as well as many local food producers.

A family Christmas party organised by the group takes place on Tuesday, December 22 at 5.30pm.
