A TEENAGER from Ellesmere Port was arrested after a man was slashed across the face and neck with a knife in a vicious attack behind Northwich Magistrates Court.
The 19-year-old victim from Northwich was attacked as he walked home at 8.40pm on February 10. Police arrested three men after the incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm: an 18-year-old from Ellesmere Port and two men from Northwich, aged 18 and 20 respectively.
The man from Ellesmere Port was recalled to prison by police and will be re-interviewed at a later date.
The Northwich men were released on police bail until April.
The victim ran into a nearby pub after the attack.
Insp Paul Loughlin said: “We would like to reassure the community that knife crime is thankfully a rare occurrence in Northwich and Cheshire as a whole.
“Arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing.
“Anyone who sees or knows someone who carries a knife should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
