BRASS band lovers will descend on Stanney Fields Park on Saturday armed with rugs and a picnic baskets for the annual Silver Band Concert.

The free event, organised by the Friends of Stanney Fields Park, will include a programme of live music to suit all tastes courtesy of Ellesmere Port Silver Band.

The event on Saturday will run from 6-8pm.

There will be the opportunity to win a food hamper in a fundraising raffle, with all proceeds going to pay for future community events in the park.

Local member for Neston, Cllr Andrew Williams, said: “The Silver Band open air concert, now in its fifth year, always proved hugely popular with local residents.

“It’s a great opportunity to get together with family and friends over some good food and great music, fingers crossed we have good weather!”
