ELLESMERE Port Running Club has raised £200 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
The club handed over a cheque to the hospice, which cares for terminally ill people from Ellesmere Port and Chester, at its recent running meet.
Several members took part in the Hospice’s Run to Remember event and as a result nominated them to receive the club’s funds to go towards the cost of next year’s event.
Events fundraiser Jemma Hamilton said: “Without the continued support from community groups like these we would struggle to fund big events such as the Run to Remember.
“We look forward to working closely with the running club again in the future.”
Ellesmere Port Running Club is the only one based in the town and has a total of 50 members.
They meet three times a week at the Whitby Sports and Social Club.
