PEOPLE across Cheshire West are being urged to vote in the borough council and parish councils elections on Thursday, May 5.

A national referendum is also taking place on that date.

If you have not registered to vote there is still time and if you want a postal vote you can register now.

You must add your name to the register by Thursday, April 14, to be able to vote in these elections.

If you require a postal vote this also has to be received at the council’s HQ offices in Chester by 5pm on the same day.

Returning officer Steve Robinson said: “It is important to ensure that you are registered to vote and polling cards will arrive through your door soon.

“If you are on holiday or find it difficult to get to a polling station, please register now for a postal or proxy vote.”

If you moved house before the end of last year you may be registered at your old address.
