ELLESMERE Port residents are invited to nominate their parks for a regional competition.

To mark the seventh year of Britain’s Best Park Competition, sponsor Briggs & Stratton is calling on residents in Ellesmere Port to put forward the name of their perfect local park.

Eight regional finalists will be selected from a panel of well-respected judges, who will decide the overall winner.

Barrow Park in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, was named as last year’s regional winner for the North West and commended for its appeal to both members of the community and visitors to the area in addition to its excellent facilities.

Prizes up for grabs include the title of ‘Best Park in Britain’, a plaque to display within the park grounds and a certificate to mark the achievement. In addition, the winning park will receive a host of regional and national publicity.

The ultimate winner will go on to compete for the title of Europe’s Best Park also sponsored by Briggs & Stratton, where they will be up against parks located in Germany, France, Sweden and Italy.
