A SPECIAL ‘Wartime Years’ event was held over the weekend to rekindle the community’s interest in the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port.

Volunteer Celia Webber came up with the idea of having a 1940s themed weekend to encourage more people to get involved with the historic site.

During the weekend there were talks by visiting speakers, exhibitions, and the opportunity to find out from experts how to start researching family trees, as well as the chance to swap ideas and stories with other family historians.

Entertainment included ‘Air Raid Archie’, and a DJ playing music of the era in the Island Warehouse.
