A FREE course is on offer for young Ellesmere Port motorists who have passed their driving test in the last 12 months and want to build on their skills.
The Cheshire Safer Roads Partnership is funding two Pass Plus Xtra training courses, which include a theory session specifically aimed at new drivers.
The course, which has been arranged by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s road safety unit, will take place at Ellesmere Port Fire Station at 6pm on September 3.
Cheshire West and Chester Council environment executive member Neil Ritchie said: “Unfortunately statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have a crash within the first two years after passing their test than at any other time.”
The courses contain a theory session and on-road training modules covering driving in towns, in all weathers, at night and on rural roads, dual carriageways and motorways.
To take part in the course you must live in Ellesmere Port and aged between 17 and 25. To book call road safety officer Lue Ellis on 01244 973602 or email email@example.com
