JUBILEE party planners are being encouraged to apply for funding to make their celebration a right Royal success.
The Cheshire Community Foundation is offering grants of £100 to the first 160 community events in West Cheshire to apply.
More than 120 grants have already been allocated, so organisers who have not yet applied are being urged to act quickly.
The funding, which is being co-ordinated by Cheshire West and Chester Council, has been made available thanks to a gift from the Duke of Westminster’s charitable fund, the Westminster Foundation.
It can be used to cover costs such as insurance, food, decorations and renting trestle tables.
Details of how to apply for a grant can be found in the council’s Jubilee toolkit, which can be downloaded at www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/jubilee.
It includes forms for registering events, applying for funding and requesting a free road closure, along with activity ideas, useful contact details, practical guidance, insurance and safety advice.
The deadline to apply for road closures is Friday, April 27 – but events not involving road closures can still register after this date.
