THE fire station in Ellesmere Port is throwing open its doors to the public for a family-friendly open day.

The free event will take place from 10am-4pm on Saturday, July 7 at the station on Wellington Road.

There will be a range of activities including chip pan demonstrations, firefighters charity stall, a bouncy castle, childrens fair rides, birds of prey, face painting and the Fireflies choir.

Firefighters will also display operational equipment including fire engines alongside the ambulance service and Cheshire Search and Rescue. There will also be road collision demonstrations.

Firefighter, Graham McEnaney, said: “This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local station.

“We would like as many people as possible to come along to the open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire and road safety messages.”

Refreshments available will include, ice cream and crushed ice slush drinks.
