A DRAMA group in Ellesmere Port for the over-50s is going it alone and scrapping its age limit after funding dried up.

Stage Fright, which meets at Ellesmere Port fire station, have decided to make a go of it themselves.

Sarah Judson, from Stage Fright, said: “Having started under the umbrella of Age Concern and already produced two successful shows, we feel we have something special going and we are a friendly group of people that are reluctant to give up our drama group.

“Ian, our tutor, does training on confidence building, vocal projection and movement.

“We wish to expand and further our skills and stagecraft as we progress.”

The group meets every other Thursday at the fire station, then alternate Fridays at Stanney Community Hall – both at 6.30pm.

Ms Judson added: “Eventually we would like to have more of a permanent home, so we can put on productions there and store equipment, so if anyone knows of a church/village hall we could use, please let us know.”

The group has now ditched its age limit and welcomes budding actors of all ages.
