ELLESMERE Port-based Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) has won its biggest overseas contract to date.

The Little Stanney company has been appointed to operate a two-year, pan-European mobile marketing campaign for Nasdaq-listed US technology company, Infinera.

Under the six-figure contract, EMS will design and manage a high-profile tour of key telecommunications carriers across Europe, helping California’s Silicon Valley-based Infinera to raise the profile of its unique optical networking technology.

The ‘Infinera Express’ campaign vehicle launched yesterday (Tuesday) in Rome.

In its initial phase it will visit 17 European countries.

Infinera has already successfully used mobile face-to-face marketing in the US – delivering increases in brand awareness and sales – and is keen to repeat the success in Europe.

Rick Dodd, vice president of corporate marketing for Infinera, said: “EMS impressed us with their extensive experience and their ability to provide every element of the campaign, from brand messaging to on-the-ground-delivery.”

EMS managing director Keith Austin said: “Infinera is one of a growing number of technology businesses to recognise the value of face-to-face marketing in a competitive and geographically diverse marketplace. We are developing a strong reputation as a supplier that understands the sector and can deliver measurable, bottom-line benefits through our campaigns.”

Infinera has developed an optical networking technology that is revolutionising the global telecommunications industry – making it quicker and easier to transfer large quantities of data through a digital network.
