SIX Ellesmere Port community centres will be given a facelift by the council during the next three months – creating much-improved facilities.

Westminster, Wolverham, Overpool, Little Sutton, Hope Farm and Thelwall Road community centres will all benefit from full interior painting, new lights, blinds, flooring and replacement doors in the revamp.

The refurbishments mean all the centres will have to close for a short time while the work is carried out.

Cllr Gareth Anderson said he was confident users will appreciate the changes to the centres.

He said: “This is the first comprehensive refurbishment of our community centres in some time and I know users will warmly welcome this investment from the council.

“We are investing in our community assets to improve facilities for all local residents – increasing the services provided to them and ensuring they are set in a welcoming and enjoyable environment.”

Closing dates are as follows:

Westminster – Wednesday, June 6, to Wednesday, June 20.

Wolverham – Monday, June 25, to Friday, July 6.

Overpool – Monday, July 9, to Friday July 12.

Little Sutton – Monday, July 23, to Friday, August 3.

Hope Farm – Monday, August 6, to Friday August 17.

Thelwall Road – Monday, August 20, to Friday August 31.
