A SHOP is looking for an 82-year-old woman called Eileen to help it toast a landmark anniversary.
This year ladieswear shop Bonmarche is marking 30 years of trading and, because Dexy’s Midnight Runners were topping the chart with Come on Eileen when it first opened its doors in the summer of 1982, staff are on the hunt for a woman called Eileen aged about 82 to join them in the celebrations.
The lucky Eileen will win a new outfit of their choice up to the value of £30 at the birthday party, to be held at the store’s Ellesmere Port branch in Marina Walk from 9am-5.30pm on Tuesday, August 14.
Customers are also invited to attend the celebration, which will include birthday cake, 10% discounts for shoppers who spend £30, and a prize raffle in aid of cancer support charity, Macmillan.
Assistant store manager Margaret Hornsby said: “We really are excited about our birthday event and we really wanted to involve our customers and thank them for their loyalty.
“We’re hoping there are lots of Eileens out there who would like to join us on this momentous occasion, and in particular that we find an 82-year-old woman called Eileen to come along to our party.
“We are hoping we will find her in Ellesmere Port or the surrounding areas.”
