A charity giving evening was held by Cheshire Freemasons at Cheshire View Masonic Centre, Christleton on Monday, March 17.

This followed a similar giving evening at Atrincham and between the two meetings the amazing sum of £67,293 was presented to 25 Cheshire charities.

At Christleton representatives of 12 charities including the Ellesmere Port charity Men in Sheds were invited to tell the audience about what their organisations do and how the generous masonic donations would be applied.

They were then presented with cheques from the Cheshire freemasons charity totalling £19,201.

Other local charities were presented with additional cheques from the Freemason's Grand Charity totalling £11,043.

The Lord Lieutenant of the Cheshire Community Foundation which was represented by Helen O'Donnell will receive £10,000 per year for 3 years and will work with the Cheshire Freemasons Charity to support Cheshire charities (to date three charities have been identified for assistance) .

The recipients were presented with their cheques by Michael Leonard Whittingham and George William Mann who are Assistant Grand Masters and Roger Thomas Quayle deputy grand superintendent representing Royal Arch Masonry

The meeting was closed by Thomas Ian Cranston deputy provincial grand master of Cheshire.
