Ellesmere Port Catholic High School student Patrycja Wiewiorowska has been awarded for her efforts in A-level art and design.

Patrycja gained the highest marks of all the candidates who sat exam board WJEC’s A-level art and design examinations in 2013 and was presented with her award at a ceremony in Cardiff.

Gareth Pierce, WJEC’s chief executive, congratulated her on such tremendous results and said: “This was an outstanding achievement and evidence of the hard work that Patrycja and her teachers put into preparing for the examinations.”

Patrycja said: “I enjoyed the diversity of the projects set during the two-year programme and found the grading criterion challenging enough to push me to experiment further with my creativity.

“In September, I started a degree in spatial design at Liverpool John Moores University. Along with working towards my degree I still develop my creative skills in painting and drawing through commissions and personal work.

“After completing university, I hope to find a placement within the design industry, preferably in interior design.”
