AN ELLESMERE Port businessman has donated £500 to West Cheshire College to help towards the cost of their final production.

Steven Campbell, of Game Connection UK, is supporting the performing arts students in their production of Georg Buchner’s drama Woyzeck, which is part of their final qualifications.

Among the cast members is Steven’s sister Janine Campbell.

Performing arts programme leader Paul Moss said: “It’s a demanding piece for the students. The play centres on a poor soldier tormented by visions of the apocalypse and the unbearable weight of social pressure.

“It’s a challenging play but the students have risen to that challenge and it promises to be a performance well worth watching.

“We are very grateful to Mr Campbell for his support which will be a great help towards the cost of costumes and scenery.”

He said Woyzeck will be performed at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall at 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7.

Tickets cost £2 for matinee performances and £5 for the evening shows. They are available by calling Angela Pleavin on 01244 670417.
