Ellesmere Port boy presented with electric wheelchair at golf day

THE South Cheshire Masonic Golf Society has presented an electric wheelchair to 13-year-old Owen Finn from Ellesmere Port.

The gift was made thanks to the help of Eric Malkin of 5 Towns Care Centre, Stoke-on-Trent.

A presentation was made at the society’s last golf event of the year at Eaton Golf Club in Chester.

The wheelchair was handed over by the captain, Bill Lloyd, and president Gil Auckland.

The society members enjoyed a day’s golf and a presentation dinner.

Secretary John Gayton said: “The chair will give Owen Finn a new-found freedom and enhance their quality of life and is a testament to the members’ fundraising efforts. They raised more than £8,000 this year to make sure children benefited.”
