POLICE are searching for a motorist who drove the wrong way down the Wrex -ham bypass leaving a moth -er and daughter injured.

The incident happened at about 1.36pm on Wednesday, February 22. The offender, described as an elderly woman, was driving a green car, believed to be a Rover or a Honda, south from Gresford on the A483 on the northbound carriageway.

As she headed into oncoming traffic towards the A525 Ruth-in Road junction she forced the mother, travelling in the correct direction, to swerve into the central barrier.

The mother hit the barrier on the central reservation between the exit slip road for the A525 and the access slip road for Plas Coch roundabout and the A541 Mold Road.

The collision left the woman and her 10-year-old daughter with minor injuries but the offender did not stop or call emergency services following the accident and continued past the slip road for the Plas Coch roundabout towards the A525 junction.
