A PENSIONER called Eileen helped an Ellesmere Port shop celebrate a special anniversary.

Ladieswear shop Bon Marche had been searching for a woman aged about 82 called Eileen to join in its 30th anniversary celebrations, since 1980s classic Come On Eileen had been at number one in the singles chart when the shop opened.

Luckily, 82-year-old Eileen Jones from Port Sunlight stepped up and joined the store for its landmark birthday party – bagging herself a free outfit in the process.

And more than £200 was raised for Macmillan through the charity fun day.

Manager Shelagh Wise said it was a successful day and said: “We would like to thank all their customers for their continued support in helping them raise money for Macmillan.”
