A TOP Tory paid tribute to the engineering work done on behalf of Britain’s Armed Forces and Navy on a visit to a Cheshire factory.
Shadow Health Minister and Eddisbury MP Stephen O’Brien paid a special visit to Rolls-Royce DGS (Distributed Generation Systems) in Winsford.
The Woodford Park factory is dedicated to supporting the Army and Navy with their specialist electrical power systems and employs a 100-strong workforce.
Speaking afterwards, Mr O’Brien said: “I was delighted to visit Rolls-Royce DGS and meet with staff to discuss this important local manufacturing business, its activities and future challenges.
“The company provides an extremely important technical and engineering support role for the British Army and Navy’s Rolls-Royce engines with their electrical power systems.
“The workforce is highly skilled and motivated with excellent ongoing training opportunities.
“Rolls-Royce DGS is a great example of British manufacturing and engineering at the leading edge of their field - providing both jobs and training opportunities for people living here in Winsford and Cheshire. I will do everything I can to support and promote this great business right here in the heart of our community.”
