Eddisbury MP Stephen O’Brien officially opened Cheshire’s first eco-friendly car wash in Tarporley.

Kamal Parmar has owned the car wash at Murco Petrol Station in the village since 2006 but last year decided to invest £60,000 in upgrading to a more environmentally friendly system.

A joint working partnership development between Kamal and Bywater Services, the eco-friendly facility recycles up to 95% of all water used and then purifies it which leads to much reduced use of detergents.

The plant also includes Enzymatic – a system capable of recycling pressure washer effluent on a closed loop basis producing excellent quality water for reuse, which allows This allows continued washing during drought conditions and hose pipe bans.

An official opening ceremony was held earlier this month and was attended by MP Stephen O’Brien and representatives from Cheshire West and Chester’s Environment Agency.
