AN EASTER trail of decorative chicks will keep families entertained at Whitby Park on Saturday.

The Friends of Whitby Park is inviting people to take part in the free event between 1 and 3pm.

Young children will search high and low for chicks, designed and decorated by pupils of local primary schools.

Children who complete the trail will receive a certificate, and Groundwork Cheshire will be offering a range of activities through its Spots v Stripes activity programme.

Mayor of Ellesmere Port Angela Claydon will be in attendance and select the winners of the chick-art entries from local schools.

Friends of Whitby Park secretary Diane Smith said: “Children from Cambridge Road Community Primary, Whitby Heath Primary and Christ Church CofE schools have all entered their fantastic chick designs into our competition and many of them will form the trail around the park.

“The event not only offers an afternoon of fun but is a great way for families to explore the park and see what it has to offer.”
